Youth-led projects are the next phase of being a Young Initiator. Projects are open to young people who have completed the Young Initiators leadership training and want to put their ideas into action in the community.
The projects is youth-led and chosen by the participating young people.
Being a part of a youth-led project means:
being a volunteer of CMY (the Centre for Multicultural Youth)
learning and applying project management, communication, active citizenship and leadership skills to make an impact in your community
being supported by CMY’s Young Initiators team with training, support, fun, resources and an honorary payment
being willing to work as a team
being committed to attending a kick-of workshop (1.5 days) and 80% of weekly meetings for the duration of the project (8-12 weeks).

We’ll be speaking with all the applicants and then letting you know if you’re selected. If you join the project as a volunteer and you’re over 18, you’ll need to complete a police check and a Working With Children’s Check.
